Sane shares his future plans with Bayern Munich

Largely, long last, Leroy Sané is a player from Bayern Munich.

After a year of speculation about a possible transfer, Bayern reached an agreement with Manchester City on an initial €49 m deal late last month and was able to confirm the deal on Thursday.

Sané immediately leaves City as the transfer window is now open, and has been pictured throughout the social media channels of his new club in his new colors.

He discussed the role of manager Hansi Flick in an interview with the website of Bayern. Flick had previously worked with Sané in the youth setup in Germany-in getting the deal across the line.

Sane shares his future plans with Bayern Munich

“The talks we had from the outset were very good. I was convinced to sign the whole program they suggested,” Sané said. “FC Bayern is a really big club and has big ambitions, of course, and the ambitions suit me too, which is why this was the only choice for me.”

He went on: “I know Hansi from the U21 team in Germany. We had a really nice friendship there. So because I already met him, I knew what to expect as soon as we talked to each other. I think we’ve seen both of us and everyone knows how the team has changed.”

“I think he treated it very well, the manner in which he turned the mood around, all positively. And that’s why I think this would be a very good moment.”

It’s a move that Sané hopes will allow him to fulfill a career-long ambition to win the Champions League, something that in his early career has evaded him so far. It’s unlikely that he will be able to play a part in the remainder of Bayern’s European campaign 2019/20, but he’s hungry to play his part afterward.

“The goals for me are really very straightforward to win as many titles as possible, and of course the Champions League is right at the end,” he said.

“I haven’t achieved it yet and I think everybody’s dreaming of the Champions League. So that’s why it’s a huge target of course.”
