Real Madrid is eyeing Pau Torres from Villarreal for next summer as a defensive target, while the future of Sergio Ramos remains up in the air.
Defense tends to be an environment for the Bernabeu renovation ahead of 2021/21. In addition to Ramos, who turns 35 this year and whose contract expires this summer, Madrid currently has the central defensive choices of Raphael Varane, Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez, although the latter two have played a combined total of just five La Liga games this season.
Reports suggest that with versatile star David Alaba from Bayern Munich, Los Blancos could be concluding a pre-contract deal. COPE journalist Manolo Lama, however, notes that there are preparations for another signing with the goal of Villarreal’s Torres at the back.
