Mircea Lucescu returns to FC Dynamo Kyiv after a four-years gap

FC Dynamo Kyiv appointed a new manager – Mircea Lucescu who is Romania’s top football coach.

From 2004 to 2016, Lucescu was at the helm of Dynamo’s most-principled opponent FC Shakhtar Donetsk. Following this, he worked for Russian Zenit St Petersburg and Turkey national team.

Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko, who was the current manager of Dynamo, got sacked after a poor season.

According to the official web site of the team, the contract specifics of Lucescu were not stated. This job denotes the restoration of the star coach to Ukraine after a four-year pause.

“I hope that with the arrival of his coaching team, Dynamo Kyiv ’s victorious traditions will be revived, that he will win many titles, and that the fans will evaluate Mircea with his results. Good luck to him, good luck! I’ll help him with anything I can.” said club president Ihor Surkis.
