Jurgen Klopp could have his head turned by Bayern Munich, says former Reds star Steve McManaman.
Liverpool is a staggering 25 points clear of Manchester City, in the Premier League table.
As football resumes next week, the Reds look poised to win their first championship since 1990.
Klopp is a hugely popular Merseyside icon who has been in the hot seat in Anfield since 2015. However, McManaman has warned that eventually the German chief might be tempted to return to his homeland.
“I think he just adores Liverpool and the Premier League,” he told Daily Star Sport exclusively.
“But you could see him returning to Germany to manage Bayern Munich.”
“You wouldn’t rule out the way that club is run-and the way German managers are treated there. It looked as though Bayern were on their last legs a few years ago.”
“But now they have a multitude of hungry youngsters along with the more seasoned players.”
“I’m not sure if Klopp has the desire to manage Real Madrid or Barcelona, but I don’t see why he should be going to La Liga.”
“When Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo battled every week, they don’t have the aura they did. There’s all the politics with the board and players behind the scenes at Barca too.”
“Real is another scenario, they need to refresh their squad and bring in young players like Vinicius Junior-but they are not ready yet.”
