Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has talked about striker Timo Werner.
Werner failed to hit an empty net in the 2022 World Cup qualification match between Germany and Northern Macedonia (1-2) when the score was 1-1 in the 80th minute of play.
“I see it this way: a very bad pass from Ilkay Gündogan! Just kidding,” Tuchel said BBC.
“Werner lacks confidence at the moment, it’s a tricky situation. He’s not scoring like he usually does, but he’s working for us.”
“He is scoring, giving away goals, earning penalties. If this is the toughest moment of his career, you can say it’s coming out pretty impressive.”
This season, featuring in 28 games the 25-year-old forward has scored five goals and made five assists.
