The Premier League football match between Chelsea and Everton was dubious due to rising coronavirus cases in football. Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, and Callum Hudson Odoi from Chelsea did not take the field due to the infection. The game went on the pitch despite the COVID-19 outbreak and Chelsea held a draw with Everton.
Everton traveled to Stamford Bridge in the hope to secure a win over the European Champions but had to settle for a 1-1 draw (match score). The hosts struggled to find a net throughout the game against their opponents. The first half ended in a goalless draw as both the teams failed to kick a single goal. It was Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount who scored the first goal of the night in the 70th minute opening the scoring for Chelsea. The celebration didn’t last long for the Blues as four minutes later, Everton also didn’t sit back with Jarrad Branthwaite equalizing the score by 1-1.
The scoreboard remained constant until the 90th minute and both the teams shared scores. With this game, Thomas Tuchel’s side is in the third position of Premier League table having 37 points, while Everton is in 14th position with 19 points. Chelsea will next play against the Wolves in the Premier League at 2 pm on Sunday, whereas Everton’s game with Leicester has been postponed.
