Real Madrid extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches with a casual 4-1 win away from home defeating Granada. Having won their last twelve matches against Granada the visitors were the clear favourites and it took them only 19 minutes to get off the mark at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes when Toni Kroos played in Marco Asensio down the right flank, and the winger raced towards goal before scoring past Luis Maximiano.
Just 6 minutes later in the football match, a second goal was added as Toni Kross provided his second assist of the night for Nacho Fernandez who tapped in from close range to double the lead. However, ‘Los Nazaries’ managed to pull one back before half time with a powerful, deflected Luis Suarez strike.
After the interval, 68% of Real Madrid’s goals for this campaign have come in the second half, and they came to life once more shortly after the restart. Dani Carvajal and Kroos flashed shots wide of the post, before the two-goal lead was eventually restored by Vinicius Junior – the Brazilian had the easy job of tapping into an empty net, after Karim Benzema and Luka Modric had done all the work.
With 23 minutes remaining on the clock, the hosts made any chance of a comeback much more difficult when Monchu was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Vinicius, and manager Robert Moreno suffered the same fate for protesting the decision. ‘Los Blancos’ took full advantage of an outnumbered rivals and Ferland Mendy added a fourth and final goal, finishing low under Maximiano from the centre of the box.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men secured all three points to come back on top of the table. Meanwhile, Granada falls into the bottom three on goal difference, and are now 13 matches without a result against the La Liga giants. Watch football highlights to know Real Madrid win over Granada.
