Joseph Bouasse, a former academy player, passed away after a heart attack, announced Roma.
After being abandoned by a human trafficker, the 21-year-old arrived in Rome in 2015 from his native Cameroon.
The late Cameroonian started out for Liberi Nantes where he was loaned out of Vicenza in Serie B, until signing for Roma in 2017.
“The club is desperately saddened to learn of the untimely death of former Primavera player, Joseph Bouasse Perfection,” Roma wrote on Twitter.
“The thoughts of everyone at AS Roma are with all those closest to him.”
