EPL English Premier LeagueWolves 0-3 Man City

Wolves 0-3 Man City

Manchester City got their first goal in less than a minute after De Bruyne played the ball into the centre for Grealish to poke home against Wolves.

Haaland scored City’s second after being found in acres of space. Collins saw a straight red card after a reckless challenge on Grealish, which certainly did not help Wolves’ attempt to get back into the game.

Despite the home side looking brighter in the second half, City were just too good, and they scored a third through Foden.

Starting lineup:

WOLVES (4-3-3): Sa; Jonny, Nathan Collins, Max Kilman, Rayan Ait-Nouri; Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho; Goncalo Guedes, Daniel Podence, Pedro Neto.

SUBS: Boubacar Traore, Hwang Hee-chan, Matija Sarkic, Yerson Mosquera, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Connor Ronan, Hugo Bueno, Chem Campbell.

MAN CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; John Stones, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Joao Cancelo; Keven De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva; Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish.

SUBS: Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan, Stefan Ortega, Julian Alvarez, Sergio Gomez, Riyad Mahrez, Scott Carson, Cole Palmer.

GOAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!! IT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN 60 SECONDS YET, BUT MAN CITY HAVE SCORED. De Bruyne makes an overlapping run behind Foden, and he crosses it into the box for Jack Grealish to nick it away for his first goal of the season. Wolves 0-1 Man City.

GOAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!! Wolves 0-2 Man City! Who else but Erling Haaland? Wolves lose the ball again, and City takes advantage of the gaps. Haaland receives the ball and runs at Max Kilman, who he quickly turns inside-out. The striker then fires his shot past Sa, scoring his 14th goal.

IT’S ANOTHER! The wolves have been better this half, but Man City scores. Haaland receives the ball, and De Bruyne makes a similar overlapping run to the first goal. This time he sets up Foden, who flicks the ball into the back of the net.

So, what’s next?

The win means that City jump ahead of Arsenal to the top of the table.

With three more goals, they now have a goal difference of +17, the most in the league.

Wolves drop down to 16th for now, and their fans will be hopeful that Costa can help add some much-needed attacking force to this side.
