As the Manchester United midfielder is still not working hard enough, Graeme Souness has insisted on justifying his recent criticism of Paul Pogba.
In recent times, the harshest critic of the Frenchman has been Liverpool legend Souness, which led to an April exchange of words between the two men.
Since returning from a long-term foot injury, Pogba has hit the ground running with impressive displays against Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United.
However, Souness feels that the 27-year-old can offer still more if he is to fulfill his potential at Old Trafford.
“I get hammered for it,” he told Sky Sports News. “I am not going to say I am a fan of him, I am a fan of his talent.”
“Midfield is the only position on the pitch where someone wants to do the exact same job you’re doing. I am a fan of his ability. But I want him to work harder.”
On Wednesday United’s 3-0 win over Sheff Utd moved them back to Chelsea. Within two points of fourth place, Chelsea plays their game in hand against Manchester City on Thursday.
