Two first-half goals seal a 2-0 win for Inter over Verona. Barella opened the scoring after a quick break from Inter, and he fired it into the roof of the net.
Less than 10 minutes later, they were 2-0 up through Dzeko, who tapped in from close range following a corner.
It was a quieter second half, with neither keeper being called into action too much.
Verona had a late push for a consolation, but couldn’t find a way through.

BARELLA SCORES! It’s another brilliant counter-attack from Inter! The loose pass is played straight to Perisic and he has acres of space ahead of him down the left. He puts a great cross into the far post and Barella fires it into the roof of the net from close range. 1-0 Inter.
DZEKO SCORES! Dimarco whips the corner in for Inter, and it’s glanced on by Perisic at the near post. Dzeko gets away from his marker and is left with a simple tap-in, giving Montipo no chance from close range. 2-0.
Inter make another fast start.
Barella and Dzeko’s goals took Inter to 31 first-half goals in as many Serie A games this season, more than any other team in the division.
Verona’s wait goes on.
The visitors offered a meek display in keeping with their away record against Inter.
Verona has never won in 31 Serie A away games against Inter, the Nerazzurri tied with Juve as the opposition against whom the Gialloblu have played the most matches on their travels without winning.
So, what’s next?
That’s back-to-back wins for Inter, and they leapfrog Napoli into second, just one point behind Milan. Both of those sides aren’t playing until tomorrow though. Next up for them is a trip to Spezia. Verona’s run without an away win continues and they stay in ninth for now. They travel to Atalanta for their next game.
