Ronaldo on the bench for Manchester Derby

Erik Ten Hag explains why Cristiano Ronaldo was on the bench at the Manchester Derby day while Man City goes against Man United. Ronaldo began with just one game in the Premier League this season. He didn’t get the opportunity to see the game time at the Etihad Stadium. Many fans were seen exiting the stadium post first half as 4 goals from Man City shook everyone. The game was exciting for everyone watching and Man City has been the arch-rivals to Man United for very long.

Hag explains that Cristiano is a big-time player and when he talks about his name, everyone knows that. I offered the chance to Anthony Martial as he is the one who needed the spotlight in the game to present himself and perform. It would not be ideal to pull Ronaldo in this game. Martial went for two goal nets when he entered the field however the dominating Haaland and Foden were on the striking spree.

Manchester United was in the best form however this time Man City took over with 6-3 win. Man United has 4 goals to its name since the beginning season of 2020 – 21 and it looks like they have scored 4 goals against Spurs in October 2020, Liverpool in October 2021, and Brentford in August 2022 however this time it was Man City to do the same. You don’t get to see this often in the international seasons.

Would it be a different case if Ronaldo steps in and take over the field with his style and form, could 6-3 loss be changed to a draw or maybe a win? This Thursday, the Red Devils are going against Omonia in the Europa League as their next Premier League will take them on a trip to Everton.
