Roberto De Zerbi, the new coach

Scot says Brighton, that they took a risk by hiring the coach who doesn’t even know our game. The Italian, Roberto De Zerbi could prove to be a thrilling appointment in the future. Foggia coach used to sit down and take notes all day long after every game. He used to watch repeats of every minute and fine-tune the details on the notes to understand who is doing what. Such attention to detail of every passes, and every strike could be tedious but at high-level games, these things do happen.

De Zerbi’s teams were excellent in every game and know how to play proper football. They were flawless with possession, looking each other back in midfield, and forwards were always striving to attack. Zerbi hasn’t changed much in the last 6 years as this is his studious nature and that is how he digests. He has great experience with coaching for Benevento, Palermo, Sassuolo, and Shaktar Donetsk. He knows what he is doing, knows how the game works and he believes his knowledge of things and his way is the right way to play the game. Now it is his time to put his experience to test in the Premier League.

Zerbis’s going to take charge of his brand new team for this Saturday game at Anfield for the first time. Still, questions are raised about his appointment as a coach, especially by Graeme Souness.

Liverpool legend says, “It will be a risk, he doesn’t know our game. If you Google his name, you will see a history of job changes in the last 9 years. If you are that good of a coach, people should hold you for the long run.” This kind of criticism does look bad for De Zebi however has a history of dealing with such skeptics. Time will tell about what Zebi has to offer on the table for the coming season.
