Football referee Mike Dean will not manage the 24th round matches in the EPL.
The referee has received insults and death threats on social media thus asked the EPL executives not to appoint him for the next round of league games.
The referee’s family members were also insulted and threatened, writes Sky Sports.
The 52-year-old referee worked at Manchester United v Southampton (0-9) and Fulham v West Ham (0-0), where he showed controversial red cards, which were subsequently canceled out.
Southampton has asked the Premier League not to appoint Dean to the team’s matches ever again after the match against Southampton FC.
Dean will work for Wednesday’s FA Cup match between Leicester and Brighton. He could return to work on the EPL matches in a tour.
