Pep Guardiola gave a Red Card to Haaland for a tackle attack

Pep Guardiola gave a Red Card to Haaland for a tackle attack. Erling Haaland received a warning from Pep Guardiola after he avoided receiving a red card for a reckless tackle on Vitalii Mykolenko. In the 24th minute against Everton, Haaland gave his team the lead and then recklessly tackled Mykolenko, earning him a yellow card.

The Norwegian struck the left back from behind and was lucky to escape punishment after Guardiola reprimanded him for his actions during the halftime break. Despite the fact that his team was ultimately held to a 1-1 draw by the Toffees, City’s manager was happy with Haaland’s response in the second half.

After the game, Guardiola addressed the tackle, telling reporters: “Haaland and I will discuss that. The card was yellow. I warned Erling to use caution because it can be risky when using the yellow. We can’t go 10 versus 11. After what happened in the first act with his ankle, he was a little bit enraged. He responded brilliantly, and our game was successful.”

Haaland has already recorded more goals compared to any other player before the turn of the year in a single English top-flight season. Since joining City in the summer, he has smashed numerous Premier League records (21). He has promised to provide his team with much more in 2023. In a key Premier League matchup against Chelsea on Thursday, Guardiola’s team will look to return to winning ways.
