Tuchel hailed PSG winning last Coupe de la Ligue trophy

Thomas Tuchel, the Paris Saint-Germain coach lauded his team after another domestic trophy.

After completing a domestic sweep, Thomas Tuchel was proud of Paris Saint-Germain by beating Lyon in the Coupe de la Ligue final.

Winning their fourth 2019-20 domestic trophy PSG edged Lyon 6-5 on penalties, following a 0-0 draw at the Stade de France on Friday.

Tuchel’s side will also be in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

“They are reliable guys who play together, enjoy working and suffering,” said the PSG coach.”

“I am very happy about that. I am proud and happy.”

In the last Coupe de la Ligue finale ever Pablo Sarabia netted the winning penalty for PSG in the shoot-out.

Tuchel hailed PSG’s achievement this season to win four trophies including Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophee des Champions.

“We haven’t lost the concentration, the hunger to win, the confidence, the penalties we won, and that counts,” he said.

“We won these four titles, the locker room has a good atmosphere, and I’m very happy because everyone thinks winning is okay, but it’s not that easy.”

“This team has the merit of winning four titles and I am happy.”

In the quarter-finals of the Champions League in Lisbon, PSG will face Atalanta on 12 August.
