Ed Woodward, Manchester United vice-president has spoken about the interim results of the season.
“It’s been almost a year since our last match with the fans at Old Trafford. We reflect on an extremely difficult 12 months for football and society as a whole,” quotes Woodward Manchester Evening News.
“The rapid introduction of vaccines in the UK and beyond gives us confidence that we are now on the road to normalcy, including the return of fans to stadiums.”
“Although the setbacks to our operations remain significant, we are pleased with the tremendous resilience the club showed during the pandemic, backed by the dedication of our staff and the strength of our commercial business.”
“We were reminded of the importance of football as a source of community, entertainment and pride for fans around the world, even though we missed them dearly at Old Trafford.”
“The progress made by Ole and the players this season is evident and our thriving academy and women’s team also add to the optimism we feel about the future on and off the pitch.”
