Solskjaer on winning over Liverpool: We kept them away from goals

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has commented after the FA Cup 4th round match against Liverpool (3-2).

“Great. We played really well, scored good goals,” Solskjaer said to BBC.

“The team has to defend well against Liverpool, we managed to react well [to the conceded goals], and of course there were chances towards the end, but we kept them away [from our goal].”

“Great goal, good free kick. When you don’t release Bruno in the starting lineup, as I did today, he stays for about 45 minutes after the training and takes free kicks, which was the case yesterday. So I was pretty sure he could score if he got the opportunity.”

“Rashford played in the centre of the attack, on the right, on the left and we felt if we could score early today we could attack them because Liverpool are high defensively. So we should have been quick with the ball, which we did.”
