Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino has spoken out after a thrilling 3-2 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. Pochettino delighted with a victory over Bayern Munich as his team trashed the winners of the last season.
Kylian Mbappe helped Pochettino’s side take a major step toward the Champions League semi-finals and PSG secured a huge 3-2 away win at Bayern Munich.
PSG boss wants his side to be ready to face another challenge against the Bavarians in the second leg of the Champions League.
“I am pleased with the result, with the attitude of the team, which showed itself in difficult situations, even though we were playing against the best team in Europe. It is worth congratulating the players for their dedication. We will try to repeat this performance,” said Pochettino to RMC Sport.
“When you win it is always easier to explain your decisions. Everyone thinks you did everything right. But gratitude must go to players; they are the protagonists of this game. It is worth mentioning their skills.”
“It’s a totally different result from the first leg against Barca, the advantage there is as small as possible. We hope that our performance in the return will be better than against Barcelona, that’s our desire.”
“There was a lot of sacrifice today, but we have to play one more game, play 90 minutes. The first game was in our favor, but the return game will be very tough. We know that.”
