Roma winger Carles Perez said he was ‘happy’ at the Olimpico but ‘does not understand’ why he had to leave Barcelona.
Perez said he’d been sold against his will to the Italian capital.
In the last 16 of the Europa League, Paulo Fonseca’s men are preparing to face Seville and Perez scored his first Roma goal against Gent in the 32nd round.
“I don’t understand why I left. Maybe the club needed money, but I don’t know the reason,” Perez told EFE. “I don’t think I deserved to leave.”
“Since I was an academy player, I had offers to leave Barcelona. But I always said no because I wanted to play in the first team.”
“However, this is now in the past, and I’m happy at Roma.”
Adding two goals and three assists since he joined in, Perez has played for La Lupa this season 16 times in all competitions.
