Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that club officials will start negotiations about extending deal with veteran striker Edinson Cavani.
Cavani may have been a late panic signing on transfer deadline day in October, but the former Paris Saint-Germain star has proven to be a great addition to a young United team.
When Cavani joined in October as a free agent, it was on a contract with the prospect of a further year until the end of the season. If the player is satisfied, United seem increasingly ready to cause it.
United boss also commented that he is ‘very happy’ so far with the impact of the player.
“I can only say Edinson has done well for us, I’ve been impressed with him and he’s gelled really well with the group,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“We’ll sit down with him and speak with him in the near future, of course, to see his plans and our plans. You always speak to your players and with his contract situation, we’re very pleased with what he’s done.”
