Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will take a year off from football as his time with Liverpool comes to an end.
With many first-team defenders hurt and a disappointing run of form at Anfield since the turn of the year, which has seen his side dropping out of the title chase and into the top four, The Reds’ manager has had a tough Premier League season so far.
Klopp, who has recently been linked with the German national team job, has asserted that he wants time off and that no bid can convince him to take another position during his break.
“When Liverpool finish, it’s definitely a year’s break. No one needs to call, not after four months or after six. No matter who tries it, it’s a year’s shift,” Klopp said during an interview with compatriot Lothar Matthaus for Bild.
