Hansi Flick, coach of Bayern Munich complimented Hoffenheim Sebastian Hoeness, for masterminding the first downfall of the Bundesliga champions since December.
“There were several reasons for the loss, but I can’t blame the squad at all in terms of their ability and desire,” Flick told reporters.
“The mentality after Thursday’s 120 minutes was great.”
“We gave so many opportunities to our opponents and we weren’t as successful on the offensive side as we usually are.”
“Significant congratulations to Hoffenheim. The team showed a very good success, and Sebastian Hoeness himself was also congratulated. His team was very well adjusted.”
“Our spaces were pretty well locked, and we didn’t have many chances to play our offensive game the way we usually should.”
“I don’t blame fatigue for defeat. We just weren’t able to play our way, with the dynamics we would usually play with.”
