What is El Clásico?

El Clásico is a La Liga match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Both teams have met each other more than 200 times throughout history. The term El Clásico is not much old, it was given to the match recently. At the start of the 21st century, the nickname Clasico became prominent. So far Real Madrid has won 97 competitive matches while Barcelona has won 115 and Lionel Messi has been the top scorer. The largest victory of El Clásico was in the year 1943 when Real Madrid took home the title.

The gigantic El Clásico this season is with really high stakes and both teams are playing well enough over the last couple of months to promise an entertaining match, even without a crowd in a small stadium
