Atletico boss on CL return leg against Chelsea: we will strive for victory, right day for Suarez to break that streak

Atletico head coach Diego Simeone has shared with Mundo Deportivo his expectations of the game against Chelsea for the Champions League 1/8 final return leg (first leg 0-1).

– Will Atletico be able to play the way they did against Liverpool at Anfield?

– We will be up against an opponent who is in very good form. They have not lost since the appointment of their new coach and they are looking good at home.

Tomorrow we need one result – a victory, we will strive for it, we believe in our strength.

– Suarez hasn’t scored in away matches in a long time… Will Joao Felix be in the starting line-up?

– Joao will be in the starting line-up. As for Suarez, tomorrow might be the right day to break that streak. Why not? We might have a very nice day ahead of us.

– Chelsea have conceded just two goals in 12 games under Tuchel. How will you attack?

– We are working on two schemes, and we will see which one suit us best. You can win in the 10th minute, you can win in the 85th, and you can also lose.

The first match revealed moments where we have to improve and we don’t know what approach the opponents will take, but we know what we want to do, to win.

Suarez has not scored in away Champions League matches since September 2015.
