Milan signed Rangnick as a manager for the next season

For the season 2020-21, Milan signed a deal with Ralf Rangnick to become the current president of the club.

The Grman will replace Stefano Pioli, who has been in charge since last October, The Guardian reports.

The 62-year-old Rangnick has already agreed to become the new manager of the club, but will also have discussions with the Milan hierarchy to combine that role with that of the sporting director, a position that Paolo Maldini currently holds.

Rangnick was sporting director for Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg and he made his name in Germany as manager of Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. Since summer 2019 he has been working at Red Bull as the head of sport and development.

Over the past years, the 62-year-old has been linked to a variety of high-profile positions, including Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Following the next season which is supposed to run for three years, he has already decided to a contract to take over the Rossoneri.

In recent weeks Pioli has overseen an increase in performance in reality, but the club is still in the seventh position, 29 points behind Juventus, who they face on Tuesday night, and Atalanta’s 17-point drift in fourth.
