Lionel Messi strikes a stunning free-kick and Kylian Mbappe strikes a winner now off the bench as PSG Paris Saint-Germain wins by 2-1 against Nice at the Parc des Princes this Saturday. Messi broke the sixth streak by making this goal a seventh for the season in all the competitions for Paris Saint-Germain this season after scoring two goals for Argentina on his just completed International break.
Christope Galtier is currently the manager at Paris Saint-Germain, was the ex-coach to Nice, and answered back after half-time through Gaetan Laborde. With seven minutes remaining, Mbappe has shown the final words after converting from Nordi Mukiele’s cut back. This win took Paris Saint-Germain back to the top of Ligue 1 right ahead of the second-places Marsielle by two points. Smashing for Benfica, Mbappe was made to the bench which is a decision that Paris Saint-Germain made, such decision came in as Mbappe was exploiting France in the UEFA Nations League ahead of the Champions League on Wednesday. Hugo Ekitike was chosen to go and start up front, this choice was made by Galtier.
Galtier had thought that PSG will do fine without Mbappe as Messi took the spotlight in the 28th minute. Kasper Schmeichel, the goalkeeper for Nice didn’t even move when Messi gave that thunder strike with his left foot just outside the penalty box. It would have made a bigger difference if Nice would have performed better at defense after the 2 minutes of half-time.
Youcef Atal’s cross pass from the right was allowed to bounce to the Laborde close lane which was at the back post which gives time to finish past Gianluigi Donnarumma from the close range. There’s no surprise that Galtier asks Mbappe off the bench to find the winner. Nice could have done something but Mbappe made the bigger difference. Scoring the top charts, Mbappe scored the goal in the 83rd minute his eighth goal in Ligue 1 for the season.
