Two draws in World Cup Qualifiers Group G

An Erling Haaland goal saved Norway a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands in their Group G football match of the World Cup football qualification on Wednesday. In the presence of 7,000 spectators at Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadium, Haaland gave Norway the lead in the 20th minute but Netherlands midfielder Davy Klaassen equalized the score 1-1 in the 36th minute.

Substitute Denzel Dumfries got a chance to win the football match for the Netherlands in the final moments of the game but missed. The match marked the start of Louis van Gaal’s third stint as coach with the Netherlands team, while captain Virgil van Dijk also returned after months of being out with a serious knee injury. In another Group G match played in Istanbul, Risto Radunovic scored in second-half injury time to give his team Montenegro a point in a 2-2 draw against Group G-toppers Turkey. Montenegro was at one point trailing 0-2 but managed to bounce back. Cengiz Under and Yusuf Yajichi gave Turkey the lead but Adam Marusic and Radunovic saved Montenegro from defeat.

Montenegro and Norway also have seven points each but are placed third and fourth respectively due to poor goal-ends.
