Torino incognito player sent to quartine after COVID-19 positive test

In the first round of medical testing that showed that an unknown player tested positive for COVID-19 and was put in quarantine, admitted Torino.

Series A-sides were allowed to return to individual training this week only on a condition to follow social distance rules. Both swabs and blood tests will be done for players and staff members, before opening the door.

According to Football Italia during the initial screening, Torino found one of its players tested positive for COVID-19.

The club has let the players’ name be incognito but has stated that he has no symptoms and that he was right away put in quarantine.

“After an initial medical examination, one of our players has tested positive for COVID-19. The player, currently asymptomatic, has been immediately quarantined and will be constantly monitored in the upcoming days.”

This is the first real test of the medical procedure and the resumption of the 2019-20 Series A season, as the nightmare scenario was a positive test match.

According to the scientific committee designed by the Government, the whole team was supposed to be isolated for 14 days but the medical procedure had only one player quarantined.

The German Government and the Bundesliga introduced a plan which would only isolate the player or the member of staff who tested positive, Italy must continue to focus on the plan.
