Sergio Aguero receives tribute from football world

As Manchester City star player Sergio Aguero announced retirement after suffering from cardiac arrhythmia, the football world flooded Twitter with their messages as a tribute to the Argentine star. People involved in football were not prepared for this shocking walk out of the legend from the sport at the early age of 33. Unfortunately, we have to digest the fact that Aguero is now out of the game and we won’t be able to see him on the pitch anymore.

Footballing personnel worldwide expressed their love and support for one of the finest center-forwards in the modern era. Pep Guardiola coach of Manchester City, where Aguero played for 10 years, compared him to the late Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi. Pep stated: “Maradona conquered Italy, Messi did it in Spain and Aguero has done it in England, his numbers speak for themselves.”

Aguero’s former teammate Kevin de Bruyne wrote: “One of the best strikers ever! Want to wish you all the best for the future legend. See you soon.”

Yaya Toure expressed grief: “Sergio, my friend. I am sad to see you retire today but I am also excited for your future. You have so much to offer the game. We shared many great times and I feel blessed to have been your teammate. You will go down as one of the greatest. Playing alongside you was an honour!”

Manchester City club took to their official website to thank their star: “King Kun. Everyone at Manchester City would like to take this opportunity to thank @aguerosergiokun for his incredible contribution to our success over the last decade and wish him well in his retirement.”

Football legend Alan Shearer tweeted: “Happy retirement legend. What an incredible player. Stay well.” On ther other hand Real Madrid wished him luck: “It was an honour to compete against a player like you, @aguerosergiokun, one of the best players in the world. Best of luck to you and your family.”

Aguero joined Barcelona this year leaving Man City after 10 years, but due to health issues he barely played any game at Camp Nou. Barca tweet read: “Kun, you’ll always have a home here at Barça.”
