Real Madrid thrashed Real Mallorca returning to La Liga top

In the sixth round of the La Liga championship this season, Real Madrid thrashed Real Mallorca with a 6-1 win. The football results lead Real Madrid to the top of the La Liga standings on Wednesday. Among the six goals, Marco Asensio scored a hat-trick. Last weekend, Benzema scored a late winner for Real Madrid against Valencia, and he opened the scoring within three minutes, nicking the ball off Josep Gaya’s toes before racing through and coolly sliding past Manolo Reina.

Asensio, a youth product from Mallorca, added to Karim Benzema’s early opener in a tense first half and doubled his personal tally after Lee Kang-in pulled one back for Mallorca. Making his first appearance of the season, Asensio curled in a delightful third goal before Benzema – who also assisted a couple of goals – and Isco rounded out a resounding victory for Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In Real Madrid’s 6-1 win over former club Real Mallorca, Marco Asensio scored a hat-trick vaulting them back above Atletico Madrid atop La Liga. Madrid has now collected 16 points from their first six games, marking their best start to a season at this point since 2013-14, when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge. Take a look at the football highlights as Real Madrid thrashed Mallorca.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reflected on the team performance following the Mallorca clash at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. “We started well, we controlled well, played well, alternated low and high intensity play. We were more aggressive up front. We talked about it with the players and they understood it well,” the Italian told Movistar, as per ESPN Deportes.

“A very special night. I am very happy because all the players who don’t play a lot – like Asensio, Isco and Jovic have done well today. Real Madrid’s future is in safe hands with Valverde, Camavinga and Blanco, as well as the present is – with Modric, Kroos and Casemiro, they are very strong.”
