PSG defeated Brest taking lead in Ligue 1

PSG take the lead in League 1 winning three games in a row after taking over Brest although the team was without a number of star players, including new signing Lionel Messi and Neymar. PSG defeated Brest with a match score of 4 goals in their third match of the season. This denotes another win for PSG without new signee Lionel Messi.

Before Franck Honorat pulled one back PSG took control with a volley from Ander Herrera and a header from Kylian Mbappe. Brest refused to lie down with Steve Mounie side-footing in after Idrissa Gueye fired in from a long distance.

Angel di Maria was a substitute and won the game with a nice lob in the 90th minute. Since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona earlier this month, the six-time winner of the Ballon d’Or Messi has yet to make a debut for the French giants.

Both the 34-year-old and fellow forward Neymar began pre-season training late following an extended break following the Copa America, in which Messi’s Argentina defeated his club-Brazil mate’s 1-0 in the final in Rio on July 11.

Talking about another summer signing  European Championship-winning Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was on the bench while defender Sergio Ramos was also missing.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI still included a slew of internationals, including Mbappe, Achraf Hakimi, Giorgini Wijnaldum, and Marco Verratti, demonstrating the frightening level of talent available to him. Watch football highlights of the Ligue 1 match where PSG defeated Brest.
