Premier League’s new season of 2020-21 kicked off on Saturday 14th Aug. The opening match saw easy wins for Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in EPL. We have recorded Premier League match results, take a look at the games played on the first day.

Bruno Fernandez’s hat-trick helped Manchester United begin their new season on a grand note with a stunning 5-1 win over Leeds in an English Premier League (EPL) match at the fan-filled Old Trafford ground on Saturday. Mason Greenwood and Fred also scored a goal each for Manchester United. Paul Pogba made a great contribution to the team’s victory by playing an assisting role in four goals. Manchester United was leading 1–0 in the first half, but in the 49th minute, Leeds’ Luke Elling scored a goal to reduce the score to 1–1. After this, Manchester United scored four goals from the 52nd to the 68th minute to take their lead 5-1, which remained intact till the end.

European champions Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3–0 in the match time played in the presence of around 39,000 spectators. Trevoh Chalobah scored in his debut for Chelsea in the Premiership after Kovačić made it possible with a timely pass, and the first two goals for Chelsea were scored by Christian Pulišić and Marcos Alonso. Especially nice was the goal of Alonso, who from a free-kick hit the corner of the goal and left the goalkeeper completely helpless. He didn’t even move.

In another match, Liverpool opened the new season of the Premiership with a high 3-0 victory over Norwich City. For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah scored a goal himself after helping in two goals. In other Premier League match results, Watford beat Aston Villa 3–2, while Everton beat Southampton 3–1. Leicester beat Wolverhampton 1-0 with a goal from 34-year-old Jamie Vardy. Brighton came back from the trail to beat Burnley 2-1.
