It is commonly known that Real Madrid sweated to bring in Kylian Mbappe to Los Blancos and for the same, they made three bids but unfortunately, all were rejected, though a deal could be revived in January. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has stated that his comments on Kylian Mbappe January football transfer to the club were misread.
Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to run only till the end of the season and the 22-year-old will be open to contact with different teams if he has not secured a new agreement in the French capital by the turn of the year.
Considering the forward’s acknowledgement this week, that that he wished to leave PSG in July and that no further conversations had taken place, the Frenchman appears to have no intention of doing so. Los Blancos are alleged to have made three proposals for the France international during the last transfer window the most recent of which is said to be valued at over €200 million.
Despite the speculation, Marca claims the football news that Perez remarked on El Debate that Madrid is confident in signing Mbappe, who claimed to be happy at PSG for the time being. “In January we will have news from Mbappe,” Perez said on Tuesday. “We hope that on January 1 everything can be solved.”
But Perez quickly backtracked, saying: “My words were misinterpreted. What I said is that we have to wait until next year to find out, always with respect to PSG with whom we have good relations. It will probably take about three years for us to return to the figures we entered before the pandemic,” he continued. “We have gone from entering €900m to just over €600m.”
