Newcastle United co-owner Amanda welcomes new coach Eddie Howe

Newcastle United’s long-awaited Saudi Arabia-backed takeover has been finalized last month, putting an end to Mike Ashley’s controversial reign at St James’ Park. Following the ownership, Newcastle was on the hunt for a new coach and on Monday they appointed former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as per transfer news. Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley welcomes Eddie Howe stating: “We were incredibly impressed by Eddie’s rigorous recruitment process.”

Since the takeover manager Steve Bruce’s job was in jeopardy yet he managed to play the 1000th match of his managerial career but failed to win. Thus he was sacked and was replaced by Eddie Howe on Monday.

As Amanda Staveley welcomes Eddie Howe she claims “he fits perfectly in what we’re trying to build here. Apart from his obvious achievements with AFC Bournemouth where he has had a transformative impact, he is a passionate and dynamic coach who has clear ideas on how to take this team and this club forward.

“What we are trying to create here fits in very well. We are pleased to welcome Eddie and his staff to St. Petersburg James Park and we look forward to working together to fulfill our collective ambitions.”

The Englishman is familiar with Newcastle players Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser, and Matt Ritchie, who worked with him during his time at Bournemouth. Howe is facing a team from Newcastle that is in the relegation zone and is the only team that has not won a Premier League match this season. The club is ranked 19th in the rankings in terms of safety with six points each.
