In the World Cup qualifying campaign France demolished Kazakhstan national team in their own fashion scoring 8 unanswered goals. Remarkably, it was Kylian Mbappe who scored half of the goals last night. Since 1958 the 22-year-old Mbappe has become the first Frenchman to register 4 goals for the national team and equals Just Fontaine’s record that stood for 63 years, Opta Jean reports.

Didier Deschamps’ men top the group D securing their place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar while the second spot, which would send the contenders into the playoffs, is still vacant.

Tottenham Hotspur and France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has commented on the national team’s 8-0 victory over Kazakhstan paying special attention to his teammate Kylian Mbappe. In the intriguing football match, the 22-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker registered a record that stood for 63 years scoring 4 goals.

“Mbappe is a great champion. He is born to break records. After quite an unsuccessful Euro [2020] the expectations from the fans were too high. He has to keep going. After all, we are happy we’ve qualified for the final tournament. But it’s not a trophy yet”, – the Frenchman stated, Le Parisien reports.

Kylian Mbappe, who was earlier linked with a move to Real Madrid, has commented on his future completing five years at Paris Saint Germain. Speaking while away on international duty, Mbappe has told TNT Brasil: “I have spent five extraordinary years here, I have taken advantage of every moment and I continue to do so.  I am happy both on the pitch and in my personal life.”

“Now there are many things, great challenges and I have already spoken about that.”  Pressed on whether he will still be at PSG beyond the end of the 2021-22 campaign, he added: “I’m here, I’m still here, I’m here this season.”
