Manchester United part ways with coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United will no longer be coached by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Old Trafford football club sacked him after three years of being in charge. The Red Devils moved to seventh place in the Premier League table following a defeat to newly-promoted Watford on Sunday.

Manchester United has announced the football news that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as a manager. “Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.”

“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family,” – the club’s official statement says.

To recap, following the 1-4 defeat to Watford, the Manchester United board decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from his post as a coach. The club’s owner Joel Glazer had also approved the Norwegian manager’s dismissal, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano

It was also mentioned that Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick were ready to take over the squad as an interim solution if no instant solution is found. But now it is confirmed that while the club looks for an interim manager to appoint Michael Carrick will be the one to take charge of the team.

Man United has lost in 4 out of their last 5 games under Solskjaer’s command placing 7th in the Premier League standings.
