Liverpool reopened the Melwood training base

Goal confirms, this week Liverpool reopened the Melwood training base to several teams and made their first step in returning to normal.

Since mid-March, West Derby base of Reds had been shut, where a lot of Jurgen Klopp’s team have been relocated.

Players in the group of 3 were given access to outdoor training spaces at any time since Monday.

They are supposed to strictly follow social distancing laws. Players could use an isolated room for up to an hour, their progress will be tracked from a distance by a single club medical staff member.

Entry to the Melwood building itself is forbidden, with the club clearly ensuring that the return of the players is a realistic one. Any players have been unable to practice in public parks or run on streets outside their homes owing to the attention that they draw.

Players and workers help with regular stretching practices and exercise in a group practice done via Zoom, as including Klopp none of the Red’s coaching staff have returned to the field.

Players are granted their own running routines to pursue on their own time, while they aim to keep ticking around fitness-wise.
