Lionel Messi officially a PSG player

Lionel Messi has signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain after he was forced to leave Barcelona. The French Giants PSG who were monitoring Messi’s situation at Barcelona had initiated talks with the Argentine quickly after his former club announced the shocking news. The Parisians declared the signing of Lionel Messi and that he is now officially a PSG player after agreeing on personal terms for his Paris contract.

“Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the signing of Leo Messi on a two-year contract with an option of a third year,” confirmed the French club in a statement on their official website. After leaving Barcelona and La Liga Messi has signed a two-year contract with PSG of the Ligue 1. The Argentine had to quit Barca over his wish but he will join Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as per the latest transfer news.

Messi has now found a new home after devoting 21 years of his football career to Barcelona. It is to be seen that how long the 34-year-old will stay at PSG although the new contract has been signed for 2 years. He stayed at Camp Nou all his career and agreed to move to Parc De Princes.

Special friend and former teammate Neymar is ecstatic about the prospect of reuniting with Lionel Messi. Fabrizio Romano claims that the sides have agreed on a 2-year deal with an option to extend until June 2024. The former Barcelona player’s salary will be around 35 million euros per year including bonuses.

Since July 1 the six-time Ballon d’Or winner had been a free agent, but it was expected that he would sign a new deal with the Catalan club. However, his announcement last Thursday that he would not resign with Barcelona due to “financial and structural obstacles” prompted PSG to act expeditiously. He will wear the number 30 shirt, and while PSG has confirmed the initial contract length, it is widely reported that there is an option for an additional year in place.
