Two goals from Robert Lewandowski helped Bayern Munich beat Dortmund 3–2 in the German league Bundesliga. With this football match victory, Bayern Munich is four points ahead of their rivals Dortmund in the points table and is placed first with 34 points.

Earlier, for Dortmund, Julian Brandt opened the team’s account with a Bellingham pass in the fifth minute. However, just four minutes later, Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski scored a goal from inside the box on a pass from Thomas Müller and leveled the team. For Dortmund at the start of the second half, Erling Haaland leveled the score again in the 48th minute with a goal from Bellingham. In the 51st minute of the match, Emre Can of Dortmund was shown the yellow card for a bad foul. The turning point in the drawn match came when Lewandowski converted a penalty in the 77th minute to give Bayern Munich a vital lead. However, Lewandowski’s penalty was controversial, and Dortmund fans expressed their anger at the referee’s penalty.

Fans called the penalty award wrong, while the referee decided to award the penalty based on video assistant review (VAR). Dortmund tried to level the score till the last minute but could not succeed in it. Lewandowski, who scored two goals for Bayern Munich, has so far scored 16 goals in this campaign.
