PSG star player Kylian Mbappe referred to Achraf Hakimi as “my brother” in one of his most recent Instagram stories, according to Diario AS. It’s a photo of the pair in the dressing room after Paris Saint- Germain’s latest victory, a 4-2 win over Racing Strasbourg on Saturday.
After the game, Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi has also been photographed relaxing in an ice bath together. The duo clearly has great chemistry both on and off the field, in spite of the fact that Hakimi only arrived in Paris this summer from Inter.
Real Madrid target Mbappe speaks fluent Spanish and has been instrumental in Achraf Hakimi’s adjustment to the PSG dressing room. The Madrid press has also speculated on what their friendship could mean for Mbappe’s future; after all, Hakimi came through Real Madrid’s youth system and only left for Italy last summer.
Mbappe’s strike partner with the French national team Karim Benzema is another teammate with close ties to the Santiago Bernabeu. The pair even went on vacation together to Mykonos following their Euro 2020 campaign ended in an ignominious penalty shootout against Switzerland.
Regardless of the motivations of these so-called double agents, Mbappe will make the final decision. At the moment, all indications point to the French striker finishing the final year of his contract at Parc des Princes before departing as a free agent in 2022.
