Here is what Ronaldo said ahead of United’s Champions League match

Ahead of the second debut against Newcastle United in the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo gave a rousing speech to his new Manchester United teammates in an attempt to bring the best out of the squad. Scoring twice to lead United to a 4-1 victory over Steve Bruce’s side in a Premier League football match Ronaldo made an emphatic start to his second stint at Old Trafford. It is noted that Ronaldo’s arrival at the club appeared to have given the squad a huge boost.

In the latest football news, The Sun has revealed the details of the pre-match speech he gave to get his teammates pumped for the momentous occasion. Ronaldo began saying, “I have returned to Man Utd for two reasons, the first is because I love the club. The second is I love the winning mentality that breeds through the ranks of this club. I have not come back to be a cheerleader.”

“If you guys want to succeed, then I need you to love this club from the bottom of your hearts. You need to eat, sleep and fight for this club. Whether you play or do not play, you need to support your teammates and always give 100% for the club. I am here to win and nothing else. Winning brings us happiness. I want to be happy, do you?”

Following a round of applause from his teammates for his speech, Ronaldo continued to heap praise on the team and urged them to help United overcome their recent mediocrity. He added: “You are all amazing players and I believe in you, or else I would have not returned. The fans will support you, if you give your best.”

“I just want to create a winning mentality, so when I do retire one day, the winning mentality will remain, and this group of players will dominate football, like we did in the past. I will do my best for the team but I need your support too. Are you ready to fight? Are you ready to leave everything on the pitch?”

In Manchester United’s Champions League Kick-off match Ronaldo hit a goal against Young Boys but failed to win as Switzerland’s team stuns everyone with a 2-1 match score.
