Group F: Portugal Team Preview Ahead Of Euro 2020

The defending champions Portugal as a stronger team as compared to what in 2016. Coach Fernando Santos prefers a strong, cautious style despite their abundance of attacking talent. It has paid dividends as he led Portugal to their first trophy five years ago. With the nearing of UEFA Euro 2020, we have noted a preview of Portugal in Group F of the European Championship.

In their group earlier they finished second, three points behind was third-placed Serbia. Portugal failed to achieve their Nations League crown, falling short of France, whom they will meet again in this group.

Despite this, their players have performed admirably in their respective domestic leagues. In England, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, and Dias have all done well.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to improve in spite of playing for a sluggish Juventus side. André Silva (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Joo Palhinha (Sporting), have had outstanding seasons. Pepe is expected to be playing his final international event and he will partner Dias.

To regain the European Championships they will be attempting to become only the second team after Iberian rivals Spain, and it’s a realistic goal. The semi-finals, on the other hand, appear to be more likely.
