Gravina: ‘reduced’ quarantine will become law

Ensuring that Series A and B can start safely, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina confirms that tomorrow’s ‘reduced’ quarantine will become law.

Only the player who tests positively for COVID-19 will be excluded for 14 days and not all the squad and coaching staff, the Federation has succeeded in persuading the CTS (technical science committee) to ease the quarantine.

The government requires first to amend the current decree to make it effective or needs a new decree.

“I just spoke to Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora, and he pledged the effort to reduce the quarantine tomorrow, which is good news for all those who are passionate about football,” Gravina told RAI Sport.

“The huge viewing figures for the Coppa Italia semi-finals show the passion that there is in the country and how much we wanted this moment to arrive.”

“We also received the good news today that the opening game for the European Championship will again be at the Stadio Olimpico when Italy takes on Turkey.”
