River Plate by Marcelo Gallardo is the club where Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain wants to end his career, he claimed them as ‘very exciting. They do have it all.’
Higuain is in the last year of his deal with Juve and has returned to Turin. The Argentina international spent the first phase of the coronavirus pandemic in the home country, even holding a web-seminar for River’s youth.
“River is a club that gave me everything, from letting me develop to buying me from Real Madrid, but I don’t know what’s going to happen right now. My head is here, [in Turin]”, 32-year-old to TyC Sports.
“The Gallardo team is very exciting, they have the quality, the strength, all …”
“The truth you are watching them and their No 9 is getting lots of chances. Clearly there is someone who played for River before watching that team, seeing themselves there and saying, ‘how nice.’”
“Gallardo caught the eyes of everyone and he earned it. I would have thought of going back to River to retire.”
Before joining Real Madrid Pipita kick-started his football career with the Buenos Aires club scoring 15 goals in 41 appearances in January 2007.
For their part, River finished runners-up in last year’s Flamengo competition and won the 2018 Copa Libertadores.
