Football transfer news: Eduardo Camavinga joins Real Madrid

Eduardo Camavinga has joined Real Madrid on a six-year deal as we report football transfer news. The club’s press office has announced that Eduardo Camavinga has been officially presented as a Real Madrid player.

The young midfielder will play under the number 25 shirt as he stays at the Madrid club until 2027. Camavinga arrived from Rennes where he has played for two years since joining the club in 2019. At Rennes, he managed to score two goals in 71 appearances.

The Frenchman’s presentation took place at Valdebebas as the renovation continues at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The club’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who rejoined Real replacing Zinedine Zidane, welcomed the 18-year-old. His new teammates also greeted Camavinga as he starts a new journey.

It has been reported that Camavinga always wanted to join Real Madrid and today after his new transfer he is happy to fulfill his childhood dream. Talking to the press right after the presentation at Valdebebas, the French youngster said in his opening speech, “I am very proud to be here to defend this crest. If someone told me a few years ago I’d be here, I wouldn’t believe it. Hala Madrid!”

“I am happy to fulfill my childhood dream and I will give it my all. I came here to learn. My goal is to show the coach that I’m ready, that I work hard and enjoy playing. I didn’t really care about the money from other clubs, I only cared about fulfilling my dream so when Madrid called me I said yes without hesitating”, – he added, AS reports.

He further explained: “I knew Real Madrid were interested, but I didn’t know specifically about that when I was 16 years old. Even now, I don’t think about that. My parents look after such matters. The transfer was done in the final days of the market, but who I spoke with and who I didn’t speak with is a secret.”
