To treat every remaining La Liga match like a final after a 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao impacted their top four expectations, Diego Simeone warned Atletico Madrid players.
“The goal for the two teams was to always try to win, we had a good start in the first 10 minutes, then they positioned themselves better and won the second ball and they didn’t let us attack,” Simeone told reporters.
“The goal came, the reaction, after a play which was very well constructed. We’d been closer to that win in the second half. It was the clearest chance for Santiago Arias. He could have allowed us to take the victory at a stadium where you must still fight to win.”
“We’ve got one final left in every game.”
