Emre Can said he will never join Red Devils with a new Borussia Dortmund winger colleague and warned Jadon Sancho of a transfer to Manchester United.
Speculation over a move appears to swirl towards the next transfer window for an England player to Old Trafford.
Can does not understand why Sancho wants to change one European heavyweight for another but understands why a talented team-mate is attracting interest because of his exploits since arriving in Germany as an unproven 17-year-old.
He told SportBild: “I do not see any reason to place Manchester United above Dortmund Borussia. Not from a sporty side and not from the appeal. I will advise him to stay there, and let’s always play together.”
He added: “Jadon has a quality that not many athletes do. I felt it pretty fast. He is profoundly essential to us.”
