Daniel James move to Leeds confirmed, official announcement soon

Leeds United is close to secure the signature of Manchester United winger Daniel James on a club-record fee of £30 million. In 2019 only James moved to Elland Road. James’ had earlier proposed a £10 million move to Leeds fell through when former club Swansea failed to carry out their end of the bargain, despite the player posing with a shirt.

Then a few months later he completed a football transfer of £15 million to Manchester United, where he appeared in 46 competitive games in his debut season. But last season, opportunities for the Wales international were scarce and it will be even more difficult season with the arrival of Jadon Sancho, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo’s impending re-signing.

As a result, the decision has been made to let James go in spite of starting two of the club’s first three Premier League games of the season. Knowing the football news that James is now available Leeds is ready to take him.

According to Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph, the transfer is “on the verge of completion.” For some time, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has been in a hunt for another winger and the club had previously considered a summer bid for Wolves’ Adama Traore.

Leeds currently has two wing options at the top of the pitch: Jack Harrison on the left and Raphinha on the right. Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo, and Luke Ayling have also been used as wingers.

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano reports, “Daniel James to Leeds from Manchester United, done deal now confirmed and here we go! The agreement has been completed for €28m with add ons.” He confirmed that personal terms have been agreed and medical will be done on Tuesday morning and awaits official announcement soon.

It is understood a fee has been agreed in principle, with only the final details remaining to be completed. The fee would be a club record for the West Yorkshire side, eclipsing the 29m euro (£24.8m) they paid Valencia for striker Rodrigo 12 months ago.
