Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has overtaken Argentina’s Lionel Messi to become the highest-paid footballer in 2021. According to Forbes, the top ten earning footballers this season had a taxable income of US$585 million, up from $570 million last year. Cristiano Ronaldo is part of Manchester United while Messi is signed to play with PSG (transfer news).

There is a tough competition on the field between Portugal’s star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi. Both are compared in everything and there is tremendous enthusiasm among the fans about it. Now once again Ronaldo has pushed Messi behind in a special case in the football world.

According to the recently released list of Forbes magazine, Ronaldo, who recently left the Juventus club and joined Manchester United, has overtaken Lionel Messi of Argentina in terms of earnings. With this, Ronaldo has now become the highest-paid footballer in 2021.

According to Forbes magazine, Ronaldo will earn USD 125 million (about Rs 923 crore) in the 2021-22 season while his rival Lionel Messi will earn USD 110 million (about Rs 812 crore). The total income of the top-10 grossing footballers this season stood at US$ 585 million (approximately Rs 4321 crore), up from US$ 570 million (approximately Rs 4,210 crore) last year.

The Paris Saint-Germain club includes three of the five highest-paid footballers. This year Messi also decided to play for PSG. Apart from him, 29-year-old Neymar is also a part of this club, who is third in terms of earnings this year and his earnings are $ 95 million. While 22-year-old Kylian Mbappe is at number four, earning US $ 43 million this year.
